Why I am doing this

WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG…

I attempted going on a 7 day mental cleanse on Thursday March 1st, 2012. For this mental cleanse I could only think positively, and if I did have a negative thought, I would have to erase the thought and replace it with something positive immediately. If I failed I would have to restart the cleanse for another 7 days.

Since starting:
-My dishwasher broke and sounded like a chain saw was let loose in it
-My 5 year old car that has never broken down died in Stanley Park in the dark while I was parked illegally
-My dog peed all over my bed including my pillows, blanket, pyjamas, and copy of dog weekly. I am not sure how he managed to pee everywhere on my bed. He has never done this before.
-I accidentally hit my head on my car door so hard that I felt like my brain shook. This was two hours after my car broke down

Let’s just say I had to keep restarting my cleanse. It then dawned on me I am always looking to the future for happiness and never appreciate the moments I have RIGHT NOW! I am so lucky to have all the things I have in my life. And rather than writing down the things I am grateful for in a book for myself, I have started taking pictures and want to share them with all of you fine people! So from today I am going to start a 365 day challenge to take a photo of something that I am grateful for and write why I am grateful for it.

Why?

COZ LIFE IS FREAKIN AMAZING AND I CAN’T WAIT TO TAKE MY NEXT PHOTO! Thank you for reading 🙂

  1. It never fails… when we plan to make a change for the better things start jumping in our way, right? Those little tests to make for SURE we really want to make a change. I’m so happy to read that you jumped over every hurdle that got in your way and continued down your mental cleanse embracing positive thinking as you go!! KUDOS to you 🙂

    Keep up your great work!!

    • Aw thank you so much. That’s sweet! I still work at it everyday and do fall off the wagon sometimes. But as long as I get back up, it’s all good 🙂
