Traveling with Max in the car is about as fun as watching Max trying to swim with a swan in England. It isn’t fun. He panics, pants, tries to climb on me, tries to break out of the car, and shakes. We have tried the following to stop this:
1) Homeopathic anxiety medication: Didn’t work
1b) Anti anxiety dog treats: Max loved these. They seemed to make him run faster and a little gassy according to my research.
2) The Thundershirt: A shirt which is supposed to press on pressure points on the dog and calm it down. You are supposed to put the shirt on half an hour before traveling so I did this in my apartment. Results: Max got angry, sat on his bed, refused to move, and glared at me while I pretended to watch Jersey Shore.
3) Dog basket: Max used to love his dog basket in England but now he tries to jump out despite being belted into it.
4) FINAL THING THAT SORTA WORKS: A JACKET WHERE THE SEAT BELT FITS THROUGH AND RENDERS MAX UNABLE TO MOVE AND FORCES HIM TO LIE DOWN AND RELAX WOOOOOOOO.
Max still shakes however. Any suggestions?
